No One Cares More about Your Financial Future than You!

Take charge of your financial future!

There’s no one out there who cares more about your financial future than you.

spyglassFinancial advisers can give helpful advice, but in the end, their strategies may not be the right match for your investment or financial goals.

It’s easy to turn over control of our portfolios to a manager and hope for the best, but the reality is most managers have conflicts between their goals and yours.

Often, this can include putting you in mutual funds or investments where they get a kick-back if they invest in certain funds – these funds may not be right for you and your goals.

Also, it’s common to avoid looking at financial statements out of fear of losses or even fear of complexity – I’ve been guilty of this many times.

We like to avoid bad news and we do that by ignoring the statements we receive from our advisers.

The fastest way to find a problem early is to look for anomalies, especially if our managed portfolio is underperforming the market, or has been losing money for more than one quarter.

Don’t let a small loss morph into a much larger loss from which it will be difficult to recover.

Stay on top of your financial future – always know what stocks and funds are in your portfolio and be aware of any changes that have been made.

If you’re willing and able to self-direct your investments, you’ll be more in control of performance and can make the appropriate changes as soon as possible.

If instead you use financial advisers, stay on top the performance of your portfolio and be quick to ask questions if something seems wrong with your portfolio’s performance.

The months and years ahead will see many opportunities for growth, so make sure you’re not missing out on the current and future changes in the economy, specific sectors of the economy, and even certain stocks within the market.

Take control of your financial future – again, no one cares more than you.
